The Pathway Home Foundation discovered through its clients served through the food pantry program that diapers aren't available to families through public assistance programs like food stamps or WIC.
1 out of 3 families struggle to buy diapers. In low income families or families living at the poverty line or below, a decision has to be made: Diapers, Food, Rent, or Utilities.
Diapers usually lose in the decision. Families who need diapers tell us that needing diapers is a major source of stress in their lives. A baby crying because of a soiled diaper may be at risk of physical abuse.
Daycare centers usually require that the parent provide diapers for their child as a condition of enrollment. No diapers mean no admittance to daycare. Families without daycare have greater difficulty looking for work, and keeping a job.
The average cost of diapers for 1 child is around $100.00 a month. Let's help stop the suffering. Click the square "DONATE" button to the right to make a difference in the lives of mothers with children. Help families to keep their babies dry, and clean so that they can develop and grow healthy.
